cathywflowers.jpgI’m Cathy Clamp, and I write paranormal romances with co-author C.T. Adams in the Tor Romance imprint of Tor/Forge Books. Hunter’s Moon was our first release for Tor, in December, 2004. It’s the first of our Sazi shapeshifter world, and we’re very proud that it’s now in its second edition, and over the course of four printings, has over 100,000 in print! We recently sold our first foreign translation on Hunter’s Moon and it will be released in trade paperback form in Bulgaria next summer. It’s won numerous awards, including the Texas Gold Romance Award, The Lories Best Romance Award, the More than Magic Best Paranormal, as well as many reviewer’s choice awards. Our second book, a sequel titled Moon’s Web was likewise an award winner, and was named “Best Werewolf Romance” by Romantic Times BOOKreviews, and took first place in the Write Touch Reader’s Award. It was also a featured selection of both Doubleday Book Club and Rhapsody Romance Book Club for fall of 2005.

Then we started a new series—an alternate reality to our own where vampires are horrible, sentient parasites and shapeshifters don’t follow the moon. Touch of Evil was the first in this series, published in March, 2006. In the first week of release, it placed on both the USA Today top 150 bestseller’s list and the Waldenbook’s/Borders Top 20 mass market paperback list. So far, it hasn’t won any awards, but we’re hopeful, as it’s being discussed for several prestigious ones! :)

Captive Moon continues the Sazi reality and also was a bestseller on the USA Today and Walden’s lists. We have four more books for Tor to be released through March of 2008 and are in talks now for more in both series (plus some stand-alone paranormals) through 2009! Yay!

Our very first book was an historical novel titled Road to Riches: The Great Railroad Race to Aspen set in 1887 in Colorado during the train boom. While it has a thread of sweet romance, it’s not a romance per se. Still, we love it because a) it’s a great book; b) it’s a true story; and c) it was our first!

I live in the Texas Hill Country with my husband, where we raise Boer/Spanish cross meat goats, fish in our own pond and hunt for pre-Cambrian fossils on a ten acre tract. Here’s our pond from a week or so ago:
